_Texas Regional Urology, a new medical practice, announces the opening of three new clinics across northern metro Houston. Practicing partners include Drs. Clyde L. Corey, Drew Dylewski, Matthew Hogan, Penner Schraudenbach, and Liliana Woo.

The five established local urologists have joined to form Texas Regional Urology, the leading group urology practice in northern metro Houston. The new practice provides comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge urologic care for both adult and pediatric patients with locations in Tomball, The Woodlands, and Kingwood. Texas Regional Urology offers a small-office, patient-centered approach to medical care.
All five doctors are general urologists, surgeons who manage common diseases such as kidney stones, enlarged prostate (BPH), incontinence, and prostate cancer. They perform surgical procedures such as lithotripsy for kidney stones, robotic prostatectomy, and sling procedures for urinary incontinence. Common minor procedures such as no-scalpel vasectomy and microwave treatment for enlarged prostate are comfortably performed in the office under local anesthesia. Each physician has special areas of interest, as well as the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat the full range of urologic problems.

Dr. Clyde L. Corey is a board-certified urologist in practice since 1993. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and did his residency training in surgery and urology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Corey has a special clinical interest in management of enlarged prostate, or BPH, as well as stone disease and the management of female incontinence.

Dr. Drew Dylewski, a graduate of Princeton University, earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and completed his training in surgery and urology at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He is uniquely trained in robotic and laparoscopic procedures and performs robotic-assisted prostatectomy for the management of prostate cancer. Dr. Dylewski is a board-certified urologist in practice since 2007.

Dr. Matthew Hogan received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and served his surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. A board-certified urologist in practice since 2003, Dr. Hogan has special clinical interest in the medical and surgical management of erectile dysfunction and treatment of low testosterone.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Dr. Penner Schraudenbach earned his medical degree and trained in surgery and urology at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. He specializes in advanced surgery for kidney stones and in the treatment of kidney and bladder cancer.

Dr. Liliana Woo earned her undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Texas at El Paso and went on to earn her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. Following her surgery internship and urology training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, she started practice in 2004. A board-certified urologist, Dr. Woo focuses on female pelvic reconstruction and incontinence surgery.

All five physicians have admitting and surgical privileges at St. Luke's The Vintage Hospital, Tomball Regional Hospital, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital, Kingwood Medical Center, and Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood.

Texas Regional Urology offers same-day appointments, Monday through Friday, in three clinic locations, and the physicians provide medical services in both English and Spanish.

How to treat prostate cancer..

Wow, wish it was that simple.  It's great that as urologists we have so many tools, but sometimes we feel like artists with too big a palette.  I'm pulling together a talk for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands next month and I hope to bring my thought process for patients together into a more concise form.  Balancing screening with the new information we are learning about surgery and radiation.  Also the rapidly expanding role of "watchful waiting", or expectant management is huge!   I'm surprised, and very glad to see many men researching their options and realizing that keeping an extremely close eye on the cancer is a great choice for a lot of guys.   Definitely more to come on this topic.

Our staff was amazing, and I can't thank our patients enough for taking the extra time to find us and bear with us during our transition time.  We opened our doors Monday, and despite a few hiccups took care of dozens of patients.  It feels great to be back practicing urology, it's what we love doing, and we are feeling great about moving into week #2.
